A Fading Life

1 Peter 1:24-25

For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.

The lush green grass, soft under footsteps, dies quickly and is soon replenished. The flowers, consisting pinks and blues and purples and whites and reds, clothed more splendidly than the wisest man in existence, fade and wilt after short periods of time.

Similarly, the fame and glory, the ambitions of man fade with time, or simply with their life. But salvation, God, and his promises, his truths, endure through the ages. The Lord never fails, and his promises will not cease in truth or significance.
