The Pearl

I sought the wealth of the world to obtain riches of great, increasing my treasures immensely. Yet, by night was I alone. My mind was ruled by confusing thoughts of helplessness, resulting in the ragged barrenness of my soul, the brokenness of my heart. One day, amidst my toil in my neighbor’s field, I discovered a worthy, noble pearl, glimmering white as the glow of the sun. I sold my possessions and forsook my wealth to buy the pearl of great worth, and my soul was restored.
