A Common Fear

“I do not condemn you, nor do I judge you. Come and lay your burdens at the cross, that you may forgive yourself as I’ve forgiven you.”

Christians receive none of God’s condemnation or judgement. The wrath of God was experienced by Jesus on the cross. Therefore, it is safe to humbly present our burdens before God in order to receive forgiveness through simple confession and repentance. It is easy to become ensnared by shame and guilt, but unnecessary. We ought forgive ourselves as Christ did. If God himself determined our sins are to be remembered no more, we, also, ought to remember ours no more, faithfully repenting and moving forward toward the ultimate prize.
