Sanctification

“Do not compare who you are now to who you once were, for I have delivered you. I have worked in you and transformed you into who you are now, and you are right where you’re meant to be. Yet, I work in you still and you are not yet complete in me. I am still changing you.”

Upon receiving Christ as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit creates a dwelling within us, faithfully convicting and comforting us. This process is referred to as sanctification, as we are purified internally, within our hearts, in order to eventually develop godly character. It is common to compare oneself to past behavior, but because of Jesus, we are worth more than our past and present actions. We are holy saints.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
