Why can’t I measure up?

The real question we wish to know the answer to is,” Why did a God so perfect create a person who can’t measure up to even their own standards?”… Right? This question has been haunting me, and the fact of my inability to “measure up” or obtain perfection taunts me hourly. Why can I not reach all my goals? Why do I try so hard and always fail?

Then it occurred to me: What if we weren’t made to measure up? I mean, often, I find myself unable to reach my personal goals, so what if God created us to reach his goals in his time? Stop judging yourself based off your failures. I know it’s hard… I’ve been in despair over this for years, but we are not what we do. We are who God is making us to be. So, next time you fail, pray if God intended you to succeed in the first place, or if he has a different plan.

And next time you condemn yourself, encourage yourself to trust in God’s work. Life is not about what we want or think is right. It’s about God. Don’t be afraid to present yourself in prayer.
